"Discover the Treasure" Suppose that you traveled to an ancient land. In the exotic land of former kings there are all kinds of treasures. This ancient land has survived wars and was the place of prophets who actually had words directly from God. Imagine that you have heard of precious treasures that have been hidden in this land of mystery. While a traveler through this foreign land, suppose your searched for the most valuable of all treasures. Imagine to your amazement that you personally found the greatest treasure of all. This treasure, however, was more than just an ancient relic. This treasure holds the key to eternal life. This treasure holds all wisdom about life and death. You can hardly believe your good fortune in finding the treasure. You can't wait to study every word of a treasure that actually came from God. If only you had a guide to help you understand the structure and the meaning of the book held before you. There is no more exciting book to study than the Bible. You can study it from cover to cover, over and over, and never learn it all. Yet, God has a personal message for you about the purpose of your life related to what is found in ancient scriptures. Come and let me be your guide as we discover, or rediscover, this wonderful treasure that God has given us. Our adventure will begin September 5 and end November 28, 2010. We will meet in the Family Life Center during the Sunday School hour. I know you will find this exciting and rewarding as we build a foundation that will help you become a life long learner and student of the Bible. Some of the things we will be learning together are: Many different kinds of men inspired by God wrote the books of the Bible. What types of men did God use to write the books of the Bible? Who was the Jewish orphan that became the Queen of Persia? Which book in the Bible is considered to be the oldest? Who is the prophet that had a wife named Gomer? Was Jesus baptized? If so, who baptized Him? Saul, when he became a Christian changed his name to ____? During the last days, is there more than one judgment? Our first class will be September 5, 2010 at 10:00am in the Family Life Center. Make plans, bring your Bible, and bring a friend as we "Discover the Treasure" that God has given us.
